EMMANUEL CHURCH, EASTBOURNE

Emmanuel, Eastbourne is an exciting new church and community centre project for a Methodist - URC ecumenical partnership, which are part of The Central Sussex United Area.

The new building design provides a high quality drop in café and entrance foyer at ground floor level, with ground level covered parking; a flexible new double height sanctuary, hall, commercial kitchen with associated offices and toilets at first floor level, together with flexible meeting rooms and nursery with dedicated facilities, including roof gardens at second floor level. The sustainable design includes passive ventilation, underfloor heating and energy efficient lighting systems. The architectural design employs a combination of cream brickwork, with Sussex flint panels and reconstituted stone facade elements and high levels of glazing to upper floors, surmounted by a pitched natural slate roof.

Construction of the new church centre was completed in Summer 2023.  The building provides modern and flexible spaces, which will be suitable for both worship and community use.
