Grace Community Church, Bedford
Grace Community Church (GCC) was founded in 1972 and has since grown to become a large, diverse and vibrant congregation of about 500 members. GCC has held its Sunday meetings at various locations since it was established, but the church’s vision is to develop a new community hub as a permanent home for GCC, to be made available to the whole community as a fantastic new venue for meetings and events, as well as accommodating the church’s services, activities and community groups.
The community hub will provide a main auditorium that could accommodate up to 600 people, additional flexible multipurpose halls meeting rooms and offices, as well as a welcoming foyer space featuring a community cafe. A significant proportion of the project will be funded through a residential 'enabling' development project.
CPL Chartered Architects are working with the church to secure detailed planning consent for the community hub, and outline planning consent for the residential enabling development. We have used our extensive experience of church and residential design to develop a masterplan for the circa 5 Hectare site to help the church deliver its exciting vision.
