All Saints Church, Maldon

This unique church has a triangular tower and is situated in the heart of Maldon, a historic Essex seaside town on the banks of the Blackwater River. We were appointed to design an internal re-ordering project. The PCC were keen to provide views into the church from the street and wanted to create a self-contained meeting room space within the existing Lady Chapel without destroying the existing ambience of the church. This, together with the need for a choir vestry and general improvements to the vestry areas, enabled an exciting solution to be adopted by lifting the organ to first floor level. Careful joinery detailing to match the historic joinery in the chancel screens was required to achieve a sympathetic design.
